Public radio station KYUK reported Tuesday that Felix Hess, a spokesperson for the Alaska Native corporation's board of directors, had said Guy was not Calista’s president before contradicting himself and saying he was.
Hess wouldn't discuss Guy's status with Channel 2 Wednesday, calling it a private personnel matter.
Guy was promoted to president about two years ago when Calista’s board terminated his predecessor, Matthew Nicolai, after a sexual harassment lawsuit was filed against him.
Before becoming president Guy, who is also an attorney, served as vice president and general counsel for the corporation.
Calista is one of Alaska’s largest regional Native corporations.
