ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
A Chugiak man suffered serious head injuries on Knik-Goose Bay Road Friday when his motorcycle went down in a single-vehicle crash, according to Alaska State Troopers.AST spokesperson Megan Peters says troopers were called at about 12:35 p.m. to the scene, at Knik-Goose Bay's intersection with Vine Road. Michael Butler, 41, was riding his motorcycle outbound on Knik-Goose Bay when he encountered a line of cars stopped for a vehicle making a turn.
Butler, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle when it locked and went down on the road. He was flown by air ambulance to an Anchorage hospital.
Peters says the crash is under investigation, and described the area of Knik-Goose Bay where it occurred as a straight, level and dry stretch of road.
Troopers have notified Butler's next of kin.
