(WICHITA, Kan.)—
Do you want to know if your neighbor has a gun? If you live in two New York counties, the local newspaper made it easy to find out.
It developed an interactive map, with the name and address of people licensed to own a handgun. The newspaper used the Freedom of Information Act to get data that is public record. It found one out of every 23 adults is licensed.
