Covenant House Alaska will hold its annual candlelight vigil for homeless youth Tuesday evening in downtown Anchorage.
Thousands of teens end up on the streets each year and seek shelter at the Covenant House’s crisis center located on F Street between 6th and 7th Avenues.
This year’s vigil and winter clothing drive marks 22 years for the non-profit organization.
“You bring the light of love and hope into their lives,” Covenant House Alaska said in a news release. “A light that the darkness of the streets can never extinguish.”
For the past few months, construction has been underway for the new $20 million shelter on 8th and A Street.
The candlelight vigil takes place in front of the crisis center at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13th.
