A federal judge sentenced a Homer charter boat captain to 10 years in prison for giving drugs to underage girls and for having child pornography.
34-year-old Randall Scott Hines received his punishment for one consolidated count of distributing drugs to underage individuals and one count of possession of child pornography.
An investigation found that Hines had sexual relationships with six teenage girls from 2008 to 2011 and frequently gave them methamphetamine or other drugs. Four of the teens were under at the age of 16 at the time, which is under Alaska’s legal age of consent.
Judge Timothy Burgess issued stern remarks at Hines’ sentencing.
“There was one adult in the room. One adult. And that was you! You were the adult,” Judge Burgess said. “I don’t care if you were drunk. I don’t care if you were on methamphetamine or oxycodone. You were the adult in the room, and you didn’t act like the adult in the room."
Hines made a plea agreement, which required him to fund a $160,000 trust fund to help victims get drug treatment and counseling. He will be required to register as a sex offender for 15 years after serving his prison sentence.

I can't believe how many creepy perverts are able to get ahold of SO MANY youngsters whose parents have no idea what's going on with their kids. How is that possible? I'm a parent of 5 myself, the youngest 9, so I'm not deaf or blind. What the heck is going on? Is anybody aware of filthy guys like this having free rein with their kids?? Hello? Parents? Guardians? Do you NOTICE that there's something going on with your KIDS?
