The Anchorage Police Department identified the man stabbed to death Saturday night as 27-year-old Adrian Beaver, of Anchorage, and another person injured as 45-year-old Lovie Houston, and say the suspect remains on the streets as of Tuesday morning.

APD responded to a stabbing August 25 around 10:45 p.m. at 11th Avenue and Hyder Street and said this Anchorage’s 12th homicide of the year.

Police said according to witnesses that Beaver and Houston were allegedly approached by a man with a knife and were stabbed by the man.

Police describe the suspect as a dark skinned black male in his late 30's, five foot eight inches tall and 180 pounds. Police believe the suspect has a shaved head or very short hair, a goatee, and speaks with a heavy accent, described as Jamaican or African.

Beaver was pronuced dead at a local hospital and Houston suffered a puncture wound to the neck and was treated and released.
