A lawsuit over the way law enforcement responded to a Homer shootout has reached its second day Tuesday in a civil trial in federal court.
In 2006, the capture of 31-year-old Jason Anderson turned violent as federal marshals attempted to arrest him on drug charges.
A shootout began, and Anderson's two young children were in the same vehicle.
Anderson's son was shot in the face during the chaos and suffered massive brain damage.
In 2009, Cherry Dietzman, the mother of the children, filed a lawsuit for more than $100 million to pay for the damages her family suffered in the incident.
While there is a dispute over whether the bullet that hurt the boy came from Marshals or his father's gun, Dietzman, and her lawyers argue that the pursuit of Anderson was risky and unreasonable.

We need to arm our society and weaken the government. Right now, we are right under the corrupt thumb of illegal immigration, drug lords, and organized crime. The police arent who you think they are anymore. Hopefull others will begin to see the importance of self rule, and the role they play in keeping it that way.
