A Fairbanks man will serve 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in a shooting outside Ivory Jack's restaurant.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports (http://is.gd/dcikQh) that 26-year-old Sean Jeffers was sentenced Friday in the shooting death of 20-year-old Bryan Richardson.
Richardson was shot once in the chest while sitting in a vehicle outside the restaurant in March 2010.
Jeffers said he was hoping to meet with Richardson and another man since he believed they broke into his house and stole a backpack filled with marijuana. He says he shot into the car when he was made nervous by Richardson's movements.
Jeffers' co-defendant, David Pfalmer, who had been accused of planning Richardson's killing, has pleaded guilty to third-degree felony assault and is serving a two-year sentence.
