A 42-year-old driver suspected of striking a Juneau pedestrian and fleeing has been arrested on a felony charge.
Juneau Police Department spokeswoman Cindee Brown-Mills tells radio station KINY that Yvonne Bennett was arrested Tuesday afternoon.
She's charged with failure to render aid after injuring someone using a motor vehicle.
Brown-Mills says the Class C felony is punishable by a fine of up to $50,000 and five years in jail.
Police say Bennett was driving a borrowed car Saturday morning when she struck a pedestrian in a crosswalk on Glacier Highway at Jordan Avenue.
The 50-year-old female pedestrian suffered an injury that police call serious but not life-threatening.
