JUNEAU, Alaska—
A 23-year-old prisoner made a dash for freedom from the Juneau courthouse but was taken into custody a few minutes later.The Juneau Empire (http://bit.ly/IsdePO) reports Talon Lobaugh was in orange prison garb restrained by handcuffs and escorted by a State Trooper security officer when he escaped Wednesday afternoon.
As they waited for an elevator on the ground floor of Dimond Courthouse, Lobaugh ran for a back door, setting off alarms.
Two court security officers sprinted after him and police joined the pursuit. Police officers rearrested Lobaugh on a hillside near the State Office Building. Despite the handcuffs, Lobaugh had removed his orange shirt
Police say Lobaugh had been picked up Tuesday night on a warrant issued for failing to comply with conditions of probation from theft and forgery charges.
