APD Seeking Suspect in Theft of Identities, Credit Cards

Anchorage police say 45-year-old Joanna Lee Stanley, seen here in a series of photos from the Department of Motor Vehicles, is wanted for crimes including theft, forgery and identity theft. While she has blond hair and brown eyes, police say she is very able to change her appearance; anyone who sees her should call APD at 786-8900. (Courtesy APD / October 26, 2012)

A 45-year-old woman is being called one of the most prolific criminals operating in Anchorage today. Joanna Lee Stanley is suspected of stealing identities and credit cards. She has 3 active warrants for her arrest.

APD says it has been difficult to catch Stanley because she is constantly changing her appearance. Police say you should be proactive in guarding your credit cards to help prevent becoming a victim.

"Keep track of your expenditures, look over your bills every time they come in from your credit card company. Carefully inspect those things to make sure somebody is not using your card that you don't know about," said Lt. Dave Parker.

APD says Stanley is a 45-year-old white female, 5 feet, 6 inches, about 145 lbs. with blond hair and brown eyes. She has an ankle tattoo of what is described as a flower and a surgical scar on her right arm. Here is a link to her photo.

If you know anything about her or her whereabouts please call APD at (907) 561-7867.
