University of Alaska Anchorage police are looking for thieves who stole $2,300 worth of copper wire from a construction area within a building on campus overnight Wednesday.
APD spokesperson Anita Shell says the three spools of wire, about the size of a small coiled garden hose holding wire about as thick as a pinky finger, were taken from the third floor of the UAA Science Building at 3150 Alumni Rd. between 3 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday.
No forced entry was detected at the building, which is generally open to the public.
Anyone with information on the theft is asked to call APD at 786-8900 or contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at 561-STOP.
