An earthquake jolted areas in Southcentral Alaska, including Anchorage and the Mat-Su Valley, on Sunday afternoon.

The quake hit around 1:05 p.m. Sunday and had a preliminary magnitude of 4.2, according to the Alaska Tsunami Warning Center.

The Palmer-based center said there was no tsunami danger due to the earthquake.

The quake had a depth of 35 miles and was centered 30 miles northwest of Anchorage and 45 miles west of Palmer.

There were no immediate reports of damages or injuries.

The Alaska Tsunami Warning Center also said there were no tsunami dangers after a 5.1 magnitude and a 4.2 magnitude earthquake struck Sunday morning and afternoon about 50 to 65 miles southeast of Iliamna.
