Two legislative candidates who finished second in tight election races will have until Wednesday to ask for a recount.
Division of Elections Director Gail Fenumiai says she has certified results for House District 34 in southeast Alaska, where Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins of Sitka led incumbent Republican Bill Thomas of Haines.
She also certified the race in Senate District J, where incumbent Democrat Hollis French outpolled Republican Bob Bell.
Fenumiai says certification followed completion of work by the State Review Board.
Kreiss-Tomkins finished with a 34-vote lead, 4,125 to 4,091.
French's lead is 51 votes, 7593 to 7,542.
A recount could not be requested before certification.
