Empty Bowl Project (KTUU / March 8, 2013) |
1,500 people are expected at this year's Empty Bowl project in downtown Anchorage on Saturday, Mar. 9.
Beans Café benefits from the fundraiser, which sells handmade bowls and fills them with hearty soup.
A $25 ticket is required for a bowl, but one ticket will get the whole family into the event. The 19th annual event features live music and a silent auction in addition to tasty food.
Organizers say only about 100 tickets remained on Thursday ahead of time at Bean's administration office downtown.
Tickets will be available at the door but if you want your own bowl you’re advised to show up around 9 a.m. Saturday
Doors open at 11 a.m. and the fundraiser runs until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Egan Center.
