JUNEAU, Alaska—A Juneau marina has been fined $5,390 by the Environmental Protection Agency for a violation connected to an underground storage tank.
The business is owned by Papadrew, Inc. of Juneau.
Co-owner Troy Andrew says he was surprised by the fine. He says he believes the marina followed the rules.
The Juneau Empire (http://bit.ly/ILKaxN) reports penalties in EPA Region 10 from January through March totaled $821,731.
Eielson Air Force Base outside Fairbanks in March paid $45,700 for failure to comply with waste management requirements.
