Officials in Fairbanks are seeking more information about who might have been with a man who caught on fire at a downtown post office on New Year's Day.
Authorities at a Thursday news conference said another person was seen lying with 59-year-old Johnny Wallis about 20 minutes before Wallis was found on fire. Wallis was flown to a Seattle hospital, where he died Saturday.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports authorities are seeking more information about the person with Wallis.
A customer checking his mail found Wallis on fire about 5:50 p.m. Jan. 1. The customer and others put out the fire, but Wallis was badly burned.
Wallis was originally from Fort Yukon. A vigil in his memory was held Tuesday evening.
