A Fairbanks man was arrested late Monday afternoon after allegedly killing another Fairbanks man, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers responded to a disturbance around 4:46 p.m. on Lakeview Drive in Fairbanks and found 59-year-old David E. Schei with serious injuries. Schei was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and declared dead on arrival.

AST said that 50-year-old Anthony W. Charleston, of Fairbanks, was at the scene of the disturbance and detained. Troopers interviewed Charleston and arrested and charged him with second-degree murder.

Details behind the alleged murder were not immediately released Monday evening by troopers.

Megan Peters, AST spokesperson, said the only information that could be released was posted in the troopers dispatch and said more details could be released Tuesday morning.
