A Fairbanks man was arrested late Monday afternoon after allegedly killing another Fairbanks man, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers responded to a disturbance around 4:46 p.m. on Lakeview Drive in Fairbanks and found 59-year-old David E. Schei with serious injuries. Schei was taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and declared dead on arrival.

AST said that 50-year-old Anthony W. Charleston, of Fairbanks, was at the scene of the disturbance and detained. Troopers interviewed Charleston and arrested and charged him with second-degree murder.

Details behind the alleged murder were not immediately released Monday evening by troopers.

Megan Peters, AST spokesperson, said the only information that could be released was posted in the troopers dispatch and said more details could be released Tuesday morning.

report of a disturbance at a residence on Lakeview Drive in Fairbanks.  U
pon arrival David E. Schei, 59 of Fairbanks, was located with serious injur
ies and transported to FMH. Schei was pronounced deceased upon arrival at t
he hospital.  Anthony W. Charleston, 50 of Fairbanks, was still on scene
of the disturbance and detained by Troopers. Charleston was interviewed and
 arrested for Murder II. Next of kin for Schei has been notified. Investiga
tion into the cause and circumstances of Schei's death by The Alaska Bureau
 of Investigation continues.
