A Fairbanks man charged with first-degree murder in a shooting death two years ago is facing new charges that prosecutors say he committed in jail.
Twenty-six-year-old Sean Jeffers is charged with the March 6, 2010, fatal shooting of 20-year-old Bryan Richardson as Richardson sat in a vehicle outside Ivory Jack's, a restaurant in the Goldstream Valley west of Fairbanks.
A grand jury last week indicted Jeffers on new charges of assault and threatening a witness from the murder case. The new charges stem from incidents Oct. 18 at Fairbanks Correctional Center.
The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports (http://bit.ly/yF1QRN) Jeffers is scheduled to go to trial on all the charges in May.
