St. Patrick's Day |
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Traditional Irish blessing
PETOSKEY -- There is a strong Irish influence in the northwest corner of Lower Michigan's tip of the mitt. For example, Irish immigrants settled on Beaver Island, the entire Boyne region is named for the River Boyne in Ireland and there are plenty of Gaelic surnames in the phone book.
That strong Irish heritage is reflected in the region's activities calendar for this St. Patrick's Day weekend.
So grab your green clothes and bring on the Guinness. After all, everyone is Irish on St. Patrick's Day, right?
Erin go Bragh!
