ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
Four of Anchorage's mayoral candidates went head-to-head Monday during a forum hosted by the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce.Mayor Dan Sullivan and candidates Paul Honeman, Phil Isley and Bob Lupo attended the forum. While the chamber doesn't endorse candidates, it says it hopes to encourage debate among them.
The candidates took on a wide-ranging set of issues, including the possibility of a sales tax, proper police staffing and their stances on the several bonds and propositions on the April 3 municipal ballot.
Of the four candidates at the forum Monday, only Honeman said he would support Proposition 5 -- the ballot initiative that would make it illegal to discriminate against someone based on sexual orientation.
