ANCHORAGE, Alaska—

Girdwood buses are canceled on Tuesday morning due to high winds along Turnagain Arm, according to the Anchorage School District.

The following complete routes are canceled:
South High School #621
Girdwood K-8 School #622

The portion of these routes that run along Turnagain Arm are canceled:
Goldenview Middle School #27
Oceanview Elementary School #610

If students who normally ride these bus routes cannot make it to school with their own transportation, ASD said their absence will be excused for Tuesday.

ASD said a decision will be made early Tuesday afternoon regarding afternoon bus routes from Anchorage to Girdwood.

Editor's note: ASD sent a correction at 6:38 a.m. noting that portions of Goldenview Middle School route #27 and Oceanview Elementary School #610 are canceled on Tuesday.
