ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
A 13-year-old girl is in critical condition after a vehicle-bicycle collision in East Anchorage Tuesday night, according to Anchorage police.APD spokesperson Marlene Lammers says officers responded shortly after 8 p.m. to the intersection of Northern Lights Boulevard and Nichols Street, where Mary Robicheaux had been riding her bike across Northern Lights in the Nichols crosswalk headed south.
Witnesses told police that a 1997 Toyota Camry, headed west on Northern Lights and driven by 21-year-old Jordan Tuttle, failed to yield for the flashing red crosswalk signal and struck Robicheaux, who was wearing a helmet and was subsequently taken to a local hospital.
An investigation of the incident is continuing, and no citations have yet been issued.
