JUNEAU, Alaska—A judge has ruled a man accused of ambushing and killing two police officers in a small Southeast Alaska village is competent to stand trial.
Authorities say Marvin gunned down two Hoonah officers Aug. 28, 2010. as they spoke together on the street in front of Marvin's home. Family members of the officers were present at the time.
Marvin earlier was deemed incompetent to stand trial. However, he was evaluated earlier this year by two psychologists at the Alaska Psychiatric Institute in Anchorage.
Both found him competent, but differed on whether he suffers from a mental delusional disorder.
