HOPE, Alaska—
Human remains were found in a burned cabin in Hope, according to Alaska State Troopers.Troopers say the remains have been sent to the state medical examiner's office for positive identification and an autopsy.
Troopers were notified shortly after 4 a.m. Tuesday that a cabin on Resurrection Creek Road was engulfed in flames.
According to troopers, residents in the area said the occupant of the cabin was believed to be inside. Troopers did not immediately release the occupant's name.
Hope volunteer firefighters and Cooper Landing firefighters responded to the fire.
Troopers say the state fire marshal's office is investigating.
