CALEXICO — A number of paintings, photographs and sketches were on display for local community members and artists alike to enjoy here Saturday evening.
The city’s Artist Gathering serves as a platform for locals to showcase their talent, said Community Services Director Sandra Tauler.
“We had a number of musicians, singers and even a few poets,” Tauler said.
The event, which drew a crowd of about 50 people, is something the city hopes to continue to provide for the community.
“We want to try doing this maybe twice a year,” Tauler said. “It’s just an exciting opportunity for our local artists to meet each other and display their work.”
