Three newly elected directors to the Imperial Irrigation District’s Board of Directors will be sworn in Friday.
Bruce Kuhn, who previously served on the board, will replace John Pierre Menvielle for Division 2. Steve Benson will replace Stella Mendoza on the Division 4 seat, and Norma Sierra Galindo will serve out the two remaining years of Anthony Sanchez’s term. Sanchez stepped down in June amidst allegations of child abuse.
Galindo, who has served on the Imperial Valley College’s board of trustees for the past eight years, submitted her resignation letter today.
“You can serve two masters, even three,” she said. “But you can only serve one very well. It’s time for me to move on.”
The Rev. Mark Edney will offer the invocation and flag salute Friday. Superior Court Judge Juan Ulloa will administer the oath of office.
