It's definitely a seller's market in Juneau.
The Juneau Empire reports (http://is.gd/4urcD9) the average home price in the capital has increased about $40,000 in a two-year period.
Heather Marlow with the city and borough says the average price of a home in 2010 was about $248,000. But that rose to more than $288,000 during the first three quarters of 2012.
More homes sold in the first nine months of 2012 than all of 2011.
A house was on the market for three months in 2011, and that was cut by 38 days last year.
Part of this is because Juneau doesn't have an adequate housing supply. Developers say 343 new units were needed over the last three years to meet demand, but only 90 were built.
