A Juneau man accused of shooting a man in the face has pleaded not guilty.
The Juneau Empire (http://bit.ly/zjxUw0) says 35-year-old Kenneth Nalan is charged with felony assault.
Nalan entered his plea Tuesday in Juneau Superior Court and requested a jury trial.
He is charged with shooting 33-year-old John Nicholas Duran with a .357-caliber gun on Dec. 20.
Duran was critically injured and spent a week in a Seattle hospital where he underwent facial reconstruction surgery.
Nalan has been released under a third-party custodian agreement pending trial, which is scheduled to begin March 27.
