JUNEAU, Alaska—
Juneau police are investigating the death of a 22-year-old man found at the bottom of a cliff early Sunday morning on Douglas Island.The Juneau Empire reports that Evan Smith and an 18-year-old woman were walking when they slipped and fell down an 80-foot embankment near Kowee Creek along the North Douglas Highway.
Officers were responding to a separate disturbance report near the scene just after 2 a.m., when they heard the woman calling for help.
Capital City Fire and Rescue responders transported the woman to Bartlett Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries suffered in the fall.
