Volcanic ash from a volcano that eruped in Iceland forced the cancelation of seven of nine passenger flights Monday from D/FW International Airport to Europe.
The cancelations include:
* KLM #670 DFW to Amsterdam
* British Airways #193 DFW to London Heathrow
* American #48 DFW to Paris
* American #50 DFW to London Heathrow
* American #70 DFW to Frankfurt
* American #78 DFW to London Heathrow
* American #80 DFW to London Heathrow
The two passenger flights still scheduled to fly are:
* American #36 DFW to Madrid, 5:55 pm
* Lufthansa #439 DFW to Frankfurt, 4:20 pm
A Lufthansa cargo flight delayed since Friday is scheduled to depart to Frankfurt today.
The volcano has wreaked havoc on flight schedules to and from Europe. D/FW International Airport spokesman David Magaña said carriers anticipates some good news Tuesday.
"Airlines are expecting that British and European airspace will have restrictions lifted at 7 p.m. UK time on Tuesday evening, meaning Tuesday's European departures should return to normal for those carriers with aircraft available here at DFW," Magaña said in a written statement. "Airlines are expecting to operate normal schedules starting on Wednesday of this week, if the weather and current conditions hold."
