FAIRBANKS, Alaska—Alaska State Troopers have arrested two people accused of stealing a safe containing $9,000 from a Fairbanks restaurant.
The burglars covered their faces, but troopers kept a watch for the truck they used to haul the safe and spotted it Tuesday afternoon. The man driving the pickup told troopers he was not involved in the burglary but watched the surveillance video and identified the two men who were arrested.
The driver said he was given $1,200, but burned the money because he felt guilty. He has not been charged.
One of the two arrested men was found with cash and clothes matching those on the surveillance video.
