An Alaska state worker has suddenly resigned, amid news accounts questioning how he got the job in the first place.
Paul Pozonsky was a judge in Pennsylvania before he quit under an investigative cloud in June. He went on to become a workers' compensation hearing officer with the Labor Department in October, and the Anchorage Daily News (http://is.gd/ZwpRom) last week questioned whether his family connections had anything to do with that.
Pozonsky is the brother-in-law of Chuck Kopp, an aide to Eagle River Republican Sen. Fred Dyson. Kopp was also picked by then-Gov. Sarah Palin to serve as public safety commissioner, but lasted just 14 days before resigning amid sexual harassment allegations from a former job.
Pozonsky quit his state job on Thursday, the same day a Daily News reporter called the Labor Department for answers.
The newspaper said efforts to contact him for comment failed.
