Thousands of people came out to watch Wednesday's annual 4th of July parade in Anchorage.

Under cloudy skies the parade started shortly after 11 a.m., winding its way around the Delaney Park Strip.

More than 50 participating floats and groups including marching bands, bagpipe players, and cool cars were in the parade. Countless spectators waved flags and dressed up in red, white and blue.

Today is the 236th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence.
