ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
An Anchorage fire station received a major upgrade Wednesday.
Fire station five, which services the Spenard area in Anchorage, welcomed a new 100-foot ladder truck to their station, replacing the older fire truck that had been in use for over a decade.
The new ladder truck will help fire crews reach tall buildings and aid rescues.
According to AFD Captain Dan Joyner, the older truck "will stay in reserve status" to serve as back-up when other trucks break down or need repairs.
