A 19-year-old Anchorage man was arrested near Palmer after a stolen gun was found in his car.
Alaska State Troopers say Mong Xiong was charged early Sunday with theft.
An officer stopped Xiong's car early Sunday morning near Mile 33 Glenn Highway and placed him under arrest on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
The officer was notified there was a handgun in the car, and when the serial number was checked, learned it had been stolen in Anchorage.
The officer also found marijuana in the car.
Xiong is also charged with consuming alcohol as a minor, drug misconduct and weapons misconduct. He was jailed in Palmer with bail set at $5,000 bail. He was free on bail by Monday afternoon.
