An Anchorage man says he is offering a $5,000 reward for the return of six hunting trophies stolen from his cabin in Cooper Landing.
Brandon Allen says someone broke into the cabin two weeks ago and took two Dall sheep shoulder mounts, two black bear rugs, and two mountain goat shoulder mounts.
The Peninsula Clarion says the $5,000 reward offered for the return of the items is money paid out for the loss by Allen's theft insurance.
Allen says the trophies represent hunts by family members over the years, including a bear taken by his late father in 1958.
The 63-year-old Allen says the other bear was shot during a hung with his father in the mid-1970s.
Allen says he wants the mementos that go with the family memories.
