It's now a month since police say an 18 year old barista was abducted from her workplace at Common Grounds Espresso.
Sgt. Slav Markiewicz said detectives are making tremendous progress, and added they are continuing this investigation as if Samantha Koenig is alive.
Anchorage Police said it has received close to 400 leads since Koenig went missing February 1st. Sgt. Markowitz said the odds of solving this case are good, and that he's convinced it's just a matter of time.
“I speak from my experience, and I speak because I know how the case is progressing,” he said.
Meanwhile, support continues to grow for Koenig and her family.
A jam session benefit with local bands is planned for Sunday, March 4. An organizer said all tips will go to help Koenig’s family.
“We can’t let the community forget what happened,” said Larry Gordaoff, one of the organizers of the event.
The benefit will be held at Time Out Lounge in Midtown on Sunday from 6 p.m. to close.
