Arctic Cat Inc. is voluntarily recalling about 16,500 snowmachines because of a possible loss of control. Arctic Cat and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall Wednesday.

The Grand Forks (N.D.) Herald reports the recalled snowmachines are 2010 model Arctic Cats manufactured at the company's Thief River Falls plant.

Consumers should immediately stop using those snowmachines and contact their local Arctic Cat dealer for a free repair.

The company says the front lower suspension arm can crack during use, which could lead to loss of control.

Arctic Cat has received 13 reports of suspension arms cracking. No injuries or accidents have been reported.

The recall involves all 2010 Arctic Cat Z1, TZ1, F, Bearcat, M, and CF model snowmachines. All variations of color and model features of the listed models are included in the recall.

Consumers with any questions may contact Arctic Cat at 1-800-279-6851 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Monday through Friday) or visit Arctic Cat's website.
