North Slope Borough police say a medevac airplane crashed near Barrow early Monday morning, leaving the three people aboard with minor injuries.

According to North Slope Borough Police Chief Leon Boyea, the borough was notified of the crash just before 3 a.m. A Beechcraft King Air operated by the borough was en route to Atqasuk to perform a medevac when it went down seven miles west of the village.

None of the three occupants, all of whom were borough employees, reported serious injuries.
