Only one day after assuming her position as Chair of the Alaska Republican Party, Debbie Brown presided over her first meeting of the A.R.P. Saturday morning.

Brown was elected Vice-Chair of the Party last spring at the republican convention.  She was scheduled to assume that position February 1, but was promoted to Chairperson due to the recent ousting of then Chair-Elect Russ Millette on January 31.

The agenda for Saturday's meeting included charges brought up against former chairman Randy Ruedrich, who held the position for almost 13 years until succeeded by Brown.  Brown explained that,  "Mr. Ruedrich no longer holds office and the rule states that you have to be in office in order to be removed from an office."  As such, the charges were dropped.

The position of Vice-Chair remains unfilled for the time being.  The State Central Committee is scheduled to meet on February 9, at which point they may elect someone to fill that position.
