PACER National Representative, Jody Manning, is coming to Alaska to deliver a Bullying Prevention Workshop on October 23 at the Loussac Anchorage Public Library's Wilda Marston Theatre from 6 to 8 p.m.

The PACER Center, a parent training and information center located in Minneapolis, Minnesota for families of children and youth with all disabilities from birth to 21 years old, will be hosted by Stone Soup Group (SSG), a non-profit organization that provides information, support, training, and resources to assist Alaskan families caring for children with special needs.

According to SSG, children with disabilites are two to three times more likely to be bullied than their nondisabled peers, which explains why this organization takes a special interest in putting an end to bullying in Alaska.

This workshop is designed for parents and professionals and will explore the dynamics of bullying, as well as what one can do to help children address this serious issue.

Smaller Bullying Prevention workshops will be held by SSG in October and November throughout other communities in Alaska, including Wasilla, Soldotna, Fairbanks, and Juneau.

All workshops are free and open to the public.
