ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
The Coast Guard says two men were injured when their skiff ran aground about 80 miles north of Sitka.A Coast Guard MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew medevaced Jamal Moss and Rick Strahm to Sitka early Sunday morning. A third man on the 19-foot skiff was not injured in the grounding at Lisianski Inlet.
Coast Guard Lt. Lee Coyle says one of the men, who was unconscious, was flown to a Seattle hospital, where he was reported in stable condition. The other man was treated at a Sitka hospital.
Coyle didn't know which man was taken to Seattle.
Coast Guard officials say a good Samaritan vessel, Shoreline Scow, responded to the grounding and called the Coast Guard late Saturday.
An emergency medical technician on board the vessel attended to the injured men.
