JUNEAU, Alaska—
Alaska communities can apply to host one of the Governor's Family Picnics this year.
Gov. Sean Parnell's office says that, for the first time last year, a community outside of Fairbanks, the Matanuska-Susitna Borough, Anchorage and Juneau was selected to host the annual picnic. That community was Glennallen.
Parnell's office says the picnics are non-partisan events that are free to the public and paid with money raised by the host communities.
