The criminal case has been dismissed against a man who was accused of setting off a destructive explosion last month in a Fairbanks neighborhood.
A Fairbanks grand jury declined last week to indict 54-year-old Guy Christopher Mannino, who had been charged with felony criminal mischief for setting off the explosion in the Chena Ridge neighborhood west of the city. The blast caused at least $15,000 in damage to windows and other property.
Fairbanks District attorney Michael Gray told The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (http://goo.gl/D5Jhf) that the grand jury decided "Manino's conduct was not criminal in nature" and that "the criminal prosecution is over."
The state's case against Mannino was dropped Friday and his $5,250 bail was returned Tuesday.

Setting off a bomb is not criminal? Is this the same jury that locked a man up for life for talking about bombs?
The wheels of justice seem to have a couple of flats.
