Divisions of Elections regional offices are staying open on the weekend so voters can get registered before Sunday's deadline. If voters need to update their registration, that must also be complete by midnight October 7. Registrations can be submitted to any of the Division of Election offices across the state, by mail, fax or e-mail to elections@alaska.gov.
The Division of Elections regional offices in Anchorage, Fairbanks, Juneau Mat-Su and Nome will be open Saturday, October 6 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, October 7 from noon to 4 p.m.
In a press release Lieutenant Governor Mead Treadwell said, "My office and our Division of Elections are working to make our voter registration and voting an even easier process. On November 6, Alaskans have an opportunity to hold their government accountable, but first they must register and then they must vote."
Registration forms are also available online or by stopping into one of regional offices.
