ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
APD says the man they were looking for has turned himself in back at the scene of the standoff.
A 24-year-old man was in a standoff at a home in Anchorage in the University Area, after he allegedly tried to strangle family members.
APD says the man was armed with a knife and could've had a gun.
APD says the man barricaded himself in a home on the 3600 block of Image Drive. Police tried to make contact with the suspect, but were unsuccessful.
According to APD, the SWAT team was called out to the scene and had the home surrounded.
APD asks people to please avoid the area until the incident is resolved.
