This weekend, for the first time, several organizations teamed up to provide free dental care to adults and children.

Dozens of people came to the University of Alaska Anchorage campus for a two-day free dental clinic. They were selected by lottery after filling out an application.

An organizer said they worked on at least 80 people Friday, and all patients, adult and children, received exams and had at least one dental service done.

“We did dental cleanings, extractions, restoration fillings, and a lot of education,” said dental hygienist and educator Royann Rover.

Rover said she hopes to make this an annual event.
