ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
An extensive search of Harding Lake near Fairbanks Monday found no new signs of a man last seen jet-skiing there early in the morning, according to Alaska State Troopers.Troopers were notified at about 4 a.m. Monday that 25-year-old Patrick Hunsberger got on the jet ski at about 1 a.m. The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports his friends found it adrift near the far shoreline, with no key in the ignition. Hunsberger had reportedly been drinking and wasn’t wearing a life jacket, with high winds on the lake at the time.
A search of the lake’s shoreline and a grid search of the lake were conducted by boat Monday, in conjunction with the Alaska Wildlife Troopers and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. An AWT aircraft, 10 to 12 divers from the Fort Wainwright Fire Department and six search-and-rescue dogs with four handlers also took part in the search.
