Update: On Monday, Providence Hospital said that Jenna Clarke, 20, succumbed to her injuries from a Sep. 21 vehicle crash with a side-dump truck in south Anchorage.
Anchorage police said that the Alaska State Medical Examiners's Office confirmed Clarke's death Monday morning shortly after 8:30 a.m.
The Anchorage Police Department said on Saturday that 20-year-old Jenna Clarke was on life support after injuries in a vehicle crash with a side-dump truck that happened at about 8:45 a.m. Friday in south Anchorage.
Police said Clarke was driving a 2000 red Ford Focus eastbound on Dimond Blvd and struck a large, side dump tractor trailer that was traveling northbound on Noblewood Street making a westbound turn on Dimond Blvd.
Police identified the driver of the truck as 56-year-old William Gary Kirkhart.
APD's Major Collision Investigative Unit processed the scene and closed Dimond Blvd between Jewel Lake and Arlene for about two and a half hours.
No citations have been issued and APD continues its investigation.
